Homes for Feral Kittens Needed
Thursday 24th May 2012 11:14 AM
This year we have seen a rise in feral and semi feral kittens coming into the Centre. It's a hard world for a feral kitten to grow up in and many are found wondering down the road side lost and hungry.
We struggle to re home these little kittens as they have grown up wild and have never interacted with humans, therefore can not be re homed as domestic cats.
Sometimes with plenty of handling and patience the kittens will gradually come around and learn to live happily amongst humans, but most of them are happier living in a rural outdoor environment.
We desperately need your help with re homing these lovely kittens, they require a secure sheltered area where they can stay until they are big enough to venture out and you will be responsible for their feeding and veterinary care. There is no adoption fee for feral cats and they reward you by naturally keep the rodent population down, deterring other stray cats. Many people enjoy the glimpses they get of their feral cat at work and playing.
All feral kittens are neutered, treated for fleas and worms, had their first vaccination and are microchipped.
If you are in a position to adopt a feral kitten please contact Gemma Dempsey at the Animal Centre.
