Leave a Gift in Your Will
The RSPCA Halifax, Huddersfield & district Branch receives no government funding and we are entirely reliant upon the generosity of our kind supporters. Over a third of our income is in the form of gifts included in people's Wills.
This generosity helps us to give food, bedding, veterinary care and TLC to the animals in our Animal Centres and contributes greatly to their rehabilitation. It is also vital in helping us to maintain and improve our Animal Centre. We have done some great work in the last few years and it was only possible thanks to the generosity of people leaving us a gift in their Will.
Your act of kindness is literally a gift of life to hundreds of animals that have been cruelly treated. It will cost you nothing in your lifetime but from £100 to £100,000, every donation to the RSPCA Halifax, Huddersfield & District Branch is greatly appreciated and can help save an animal’s life.
Whether it's helping to provide routine vaccinations to keep dogs healthy or to pay for the care of an injured cat every legacy we receive is extremely important to us.
Who'll look after your animal when you're gone? The Willing to Care Scheme will allow us to care for your much loved pets when you are not there
The willing to care scheme ensures a safe and happy future for your much loved pet should you pass away first. We promise that if anything happens to you, we will take your pet into our care where we will provide them with the TLC they deserve. We will endeavour to find your pet a suitable new owner who will continue to give them all of the love and attention that you currently do. The RSPCA Halifax, Huddersfield & District Branch never destroys a healthy animal and so in the unlikely event that we cannot find your pet a home, you can rest assured that we will look after them for the rest of their life.

Making a Will, or adding a codicil to your existing Will is the only way to ensure that those you love will be taken care of, including your pets. If you have no immediate family, having an up to date Will allows you to make sure that your money benefits the people or causes that you really care about.
If your pet has brought huge joy into your life, remembering the RSPCA Halifax, Huddersfield & District Branch in your Will is a wonderful way to celebrate your love of your animals and help animals less fortunate than your own for many years to come.
As we receive no government funding, we're totally reliant upon the kindness of animal-lovers in order to continue our work. Your lasting legacy will ensure that we can continue our work to help the thousands of animals that we care for every year and also plan for the future.
What you need to know
Making your Will is easier than you may think;
•Firstly, start by listing everything you could include in a Will including property, money and other assets.
•Then you must decide who you want to benefit from your Will (RSPCA Halifax, Huddersfield & District Branch if you wish), and make a list of their names and addresses.
•Decide who you wish to be executors of your Will. It is usual to have two executors, in case one isn't able when the time comes. They are usually family members or a professional advisor such as a solicitor. If you wish, the Chief Executive of the RSPCA can act as a co-executor of your Will.
•Take all of these details along to the solicitor, who will draw up a Will for you. We strongly advise that you do not attempt to 'do it yourself'. A 'home-made' Will can often lead to trouble as it may be ruled invalid by the courts if it fails to meet all legal requirements.
Already made a Will?
Many people make a Will and assume that's all they need to do. However, circumstances can change over the years and so it is always advisable to take a fresh look at your Will every few years to ensure it meets your current needs.
Changing your Will
If you have already made your Will and decide that you would like to add a gift to the RSPCA Halifax, Huddersfield & District Branch, a codicil is a good, inexpensive way to do so. Adding a codicil to your Will enables you to leave a legacy to RSPCA Halifax, Huddersfield & District Branch whilst ensuring that the other provisions remain untouched and you won't have to pay for your Will to be completely rewritten.
We'd like to thank you
If you have already included a gift in your Will to the RSPCA Halifax, Huddersfield & District Branch, or intend to in the future, we would love to hear from you. Not only will this information allow us to plan for the future but more importantly it means that we can pass on our heartfelt thanks for your generous pledge. Your kind support will allow your love of animals to live on and save lives long into the future.
