Events Management students from the University of Huddersfield are creating a Department Store experience on campus on Tuesday 13th March to raise funds for the RSPCA Halifax, Huddersfield, Bradford & District Branch.
The Department Store Pop Up Shop concept was created by five Year 2 Event Management students from Shanghai and a team of home students who will help organise the event.
The student team is delivering this event as part of their degree in BA (Hons) Events Management. They are studying in the UK for one year before returning to Shanghai to complete their degree at the University’s partner institution Sino British College in Shanghai.
The students were required to design, plan and deliver a fundraising or campaign event on behalf of a charity to develop their event management skills. The team chose the RSPCA Halifax, Huddersfield, Bradford & District Branch as animal welfare is close to their hearts.
The Pop up shop will consist of new, donated and upcycled goods. To make sure the event has enough stock to cover the all the departments, the students are asking for donations – from clothes to homeware goods and gifts.
Donations can be dropped off at the University outside the library in Student Central (Swann Building) on the 7th, 8th and 12th March from 12pm – 2pm on the or anytime at the RSPCA Charity Shops on Bryam Street and Trinity Street in Huddersfield.
The Pop Up Shop will take place on Tuesday 13th March from 11am – 3pm outside the Library in the Student Central (Swann Building).
Customers from the university, and the Huddersfield local community are invited to visit and shop in the store, which departments include womenswear and menswear, shoes, homeware and accessories.
